This is a vertical profile showing elevation gains and losses during the 40-mile ride. The vertical scale of this chart is 600 ft and the horizontal scale is 40 miles. Our trip was 41 miles. The peaks are annotated indicating where they happened. The Juanita climb is one of the more tough climbs near the city. It represents a climb of about 450 feet in 2.5 miles. This works out to be 180 feet/mile. As a comparison, the road from Longmire to Paradise in Mt. Rainier is about 17 miles long and climbs 3500 feet. This works out to be 200 feet per mile. We have also done this ride a few years ago. We hope to do it again. |
