Fair Isle Vest with Steeks

Pattern: my own
Started: August 22, 2008
Finished: September 16, 2008
Yarn: Noro Silk Garden 45% Silk 45% Kid Mohair 10% Lambswool, 110 yards/50 grams, and Knit Picks Shadow Merino Wool, 440 yards/50 grams, laceweight knit with 3 strands.
Needles: 6 & 4
Gauge: 5.5 stitches/in and 5 rows/in
Notes: Used 405 yards total Noro = 290 in fair isle of vest + 115 in ribbing. Used 1152 yards of Knit Picks Shadow, tripled so 384 yards. Total for vest is 789 yards.
Knit in the round bottom up – hem to shoulders. Start with provisional crochet cast on in one color for bottom edge – ribbing knit on after body of vest is complete. Steeks for armholes and V-neck, crocheted to secure before cutting, whip stitched facings to inside after ribbing was knit.
Over-dyed Noro and Shadow (original color was Purple Grape) in golden yellow.
