Started: May 4, 2009
Finished: June 14, 2009

Notes:
Knitting from the top down. Starting with crochet cast on at neck edge. Fold completed neck edge in half – knit on #1 needle. With #0 needle inserted into live cast on stitches, k2tog one stitch from each needle onto #2 needle to join folded neck edge. Change decreases to increases and work chart as written rows 1 – 18.

I shortened the length of the body 2”. The button band is 21”. I picked up 2 out of 3 stitches on the button band or 5.8 st/in, rather than 6.4 st/in as the pattern calls for. I tried this originally and the band gaped. Button holes are 2 stitch, rather than the 3 stitch holes called for in the pattern.
I made this in a larger size to layer over a top, especially for travel.
As a test I knit the chart from the top down – row 18 to 1, it works by changing increases to decreases likewise for decreases, and by changing the row 12 decrease to an increase. The cable looks similar enough to the bottom up version, so I knit the chart in order – rows 1 – 18, but the motif is actually upside down.
