Notes: There has been much written on Ravelry about the sizing of this top -that it is too big and the sleeves too wide, also that versions made in cotton stretch once worn. I decided to begin with the same measurements as the Two-Tone Shrug (since it fits well) 5 1/2″ across back of neck, 1/3 of these stitches per sleeve. The shrug stretches out to 7 1/2″ at the back of neck, (which is the same dimension this top is supposed to be) so I expect the Bam Boo will behave similarly to the cotton/modal. I began the shaping for the scoop neckline immediately following separating the sleeves from the body, rather than knitting 15 rows first. Instead of I-Cord, which I do not have patience for, I single crocheted around the neckline, then slip stitched into each stitch of the neckline and the chain stitches of the leaf ties. The Bam Boo is not twisted tightly and I have to be extra careful not to miss a strand.

This cardigan shows off well on the dress form. It seems to be longer than the original design. It looks very nice.

My version does look longer than the original, but it is the same 10″ from lower armhole to hem as in the pattern. Maybe mine looks longer because I raised the scoop neckline? Also, my sleeves will not be as wide as the pattern, this may also add to the illusion of longer length. I’m not sure why.
